Hey Dan! Just heard about this from Mark Parker, who heard about it from Steve at the Casting Crowns concert Sunday. Wow! We’ve been praying for you guys, and will continue to do so. Is there anything I can do? I’d love to come visit, if you think she’s up to it.

Hey Dan & Dorothy!
Praise God…he is good! Sounds like he’s really working. I know we’ve been praying for her here. If I come visit this summer, I’ll be able to see her up & around! It could happen with God! Great to hear the news.

Hi Sis,
I love that Dan has set up this link…on the 10 to 12 times a day that I want to pray for your healing, patience & security for Dan & the kids, I pull up this link & touch the monitor & my Bible & the connection is all there. I feel close. God has been faithful! God told us there would be trials. God has handed you one of those trials. I pray you know how lucky you are. God has touched you, he will heal you. Through all this, God is breathing through you. With each breath you take you are breathing for God, walking for God, playing for God, living for God & loving God.
For all of this, we love you!!
I love you, Sis!

Mrs. DeBruler, I am Praying for you. I was healed after 6 years with a spinal injury, through faith in Jesus, prayer, rehab, and Physical Therapy, or physical torture.(smile)
It is not bad at all, with your mind on getting better soon, you’ll forget about what pain or discomforts there may (or may not) be, because we’re praying for you, smile) and focus on you and your family, and your healing will spring forth speedily. I know, because I’m praying. Lloyd Rachels is my little Radio Angel, and he informed me of your injury. May you be healed speedily in Jesus Name.
Sincerely,
Believing The Lord For You,
Mrs.Jackie

You are in our thoughts and prayers every day along with those of people who love you from coast to coast!! The telephone at the office rings every day with calls from people who not only know you personally; but from listeners who have only talked to you on the phone wanting to know how you are and letting us know they are praying for your full recovery. You have touched many with your kindness and faith. Our God of miracles will see you through this time by giving you strength to get through rehab and on your way to recovery.

Dear Little Sis & Bro.
I am glad that you have started rehab. I know that has to be aggravating to not be able to just get up and go home. But we have to accept the limitations that are present right now. When our precious Jesus says it is time to go, then we will throw a great party for you both. You can just tell them at the station that it is the right place for it. I will make you both some Texas Salad. It is a great dessert. Just ask Eddie.
Seriously, I know that God is in control and He is the healer of all injuries.
We hope to see you soon.
Love and peace, Rosetta

Dear Dorothy,
As I think of you fighting for your physical strength to return and trusting God for your complete healing, your beautiful smile comes to my mind. It has been several years since you came to my home for the Kingdom Women Bible Study, but I still remember your sweet spirit and your strong faith. Thank you for sharing life with me at that time. (Thanks, Dan, for emailing me.) I will keep both of you lifted up to the Lord.
Love,

Dear Dorothy,
I was shocked to learn about your accident. The first thought in my mind is that you will be well cared for. You have showed a lot of faith in Heavenly Father, and I knew without a doubt that He would walk with you during this trial. My only regret is that I cannot come visit with you in person. I want to assure you that you are in my thoughts, and I will continue to pray for your quick recovery.
April 6th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
Hi guys!
Just a note to say we are still praying for you! Please let us know if there is something we can do. Sorry I didn’t get to talk to you at church this morning, Dan. I was working the voter registration thing. We are on our way to have our Sunday evening prayer time and will be lifting up the both of you.
Let me know when I can bring you some homemade soup and bread! Cookies, too?
God Bless!

Hi Cousin,
I wish I could be with you, just know I am there every day in thoughts and prayers. I am also praying for your strength, Dan, and Thank-you for creating this blog. I googled Dorothy’s name to get info when I first heard the news. By the way, there are, better ways to get your name out on the wide world web, you know? Ha Ha. You know I love you. You are a very strong, beautiful woman of God, and you will be healed. Everyone you know and love in Kansas is praying for your fast recovery. We love you!
Blessings from your cousin Michele and Family

Dan and Dorothy,
Thanks for doing such a good job keeping us informed and for being such a fine example of a man sticking by his bride’s side. We will continue to pray about the specific issues. Sorry I haven’t been able to visit thus far. I was in DC most of last week. We love you both. Be encouraged.

Dorothy, we are praying daily for your wounds to heal and your mind and body to be made whole. When our kids pray over a meal they thank God for the food and ask Him to make Miss Dorothy better. May He continue to provide the strength you need for each day along this difficult journey.
We miss your cheer, your humor, how you keep us on track. We’re making due, but things won’t really be right until you get back. Take your time, we can wait.

Dear Dorothy, Dan & Family,
We were so shocked to hear of the tragic news. How can you ever be prepared for something like this? One thing we do, though, is to hold fast to the knowledge and belief that God is sovreign and will work out “all things” for your good. It’s so hard to make sense of something like this (and is probably best to avoid trying to) but we will continue to pray for your family and for God to minister HIS healing as only He can. What man is not able to do, God is more than able. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Dorothy as everyone else has said you are in our daily prayers, it is a true miracle that you are still here with us and we know the road ahead is going to be a long one. Denise and I would just like for you to know that you are not going to travel that road alone. You have many brothers and sisters in Christ that are with you every step of the way and more importantly you have our Savior to carry you through all the trials your going to endure. Dan if we can help you in any way please feel free to give me a yell brother. We love you both and we will keep the prayer wariors on this.

Praise God for His Love and His Mercy. It’s so good to read about the conversation you two had this morning. The Lord has this thing in his hands, and in His time , everything will be the way it was before the accident…only better!
Keep the Faith, and He will keep you.
In His love,

Dorothy: I am excited about your recovery. I called and left a message on your phone before I knew that Dan had set up this awesome site. We are praying for the two of you and I believe God is in all of this for His glory. Continue to trust that He will provide all your needs according to His riches in glory. I was pleased to hear you got to go out with Dan and ride in the open air. Looking forward to seeing you again and continue to lift you up in prayer. May you change the hearts and lives of those you come in contact with that they too may know Him as Lord and Savior. Be blessed

Hi guys! Just checking in to let you know we are still praying for you. Let us know what we can do. How about some food for the week you come home, or the week after?
April 21st, 2008 at 5:02 pm
Mom,
I LOVE YOU, and I am so very proud of you for finding your strength. There were a couple of moments there where I thought you were becoming doubtful of yourself, and we all know that is NOT how us DeBruler’s were raised. At any rate, Im sure dad will read this to you, or you may get around to reading it yourself when you feel better, I wanted to say I do love you and I do pray for you all the time. You truly are an inspiration and have helped me remember the way I was brought up, and the things that are really important in life..FAITH IN GOD, AND FAMILY. I LOVE YOU MOM!
LOVE,

Dan - I spoke with rehab discharge here at Cape Fear today. They said to ask phy. therapy to order a wheelchair lease for you. If they can’t because Dorothy walks so far that insurance won’t cover it, you can ask the doctor for a prescription for a wheelchair citing community mobility as the reason. If you end up leasing one here, I had a great experience with Carolina Medical on Bragg Blvd. They even picked ours up when we no longer needed it. Ask the therapist to recommend size. Smaller is easier to lift and those little curb hoppers on the back are happ’nin’!
Dorothy - you go, girl! We are praying you will be home soon!
Love you!

Hello there Ms. Dorothy! I happened to stop by School
Tools today and was met with the news of the accident by Phyllis and Rita. I was truly shocked, to say the least, but you can rest assured that you will now have even more prayers being raised up for you and your family. I told Phyllis that the Dorothy I know will not be down for very long!! You have been such a wonderful encouragement for me since the very first time I met you. I love you and I am looking forward to our next meeting! Just wait until you see how much my little fella has grown. I am sure Phyllis will tell you also that Aidan is going to have a little sister soon! We are truly, truly blessed and loving “mommyhood”!! Love you and our prayers are right there with you guys 24/7.

Dorothy and Dan,
Having not commented up until now doesn’t mean I haven’t kept this matter on my mind constantly, because I have. Every time I see someone on a bicycle or consider the chair in your office temporarily filled by your “right-hand lady,” Jackie, a prayer takes flight from my spirit to God for your healing and restoration. We miss you a lot as the true “anchor” to this office, humanly speaking, and know that God has got all things, including you, in His hands. “He’s got the whole wide world in His hands.” Your “little” brother, Gilbert.
